Steve's Carnival Challenge

Steve’s Carnival Challenge: what will YOU do?

Calling all those who enjoy keeping fit - whatever way you choose to do so!

Will you join me, Steve Cox, in setting yourself a sporting challenge whilst raising money for Malmesbury Carnival?

During the months of July and August I’m setting myself the challenge of cycling the equivalent from John O’Groats to Land’s End, long route. That’s over 1000 miles. As travel through the country with overnight stays is still difficult in these times it will be a ‘virtual’ ride the length of Britain. So I will be recording my daily cycle on my phone app, trying to do roughly 30 miles a day, every day, all in the Malmesbury vicinity.

To raise money for Malmesbury Carnival I’m hoping a few people will sponsor my ride. I am asking people to donate through the Malmesbury Carnival website donation page

It would be great If YOU set your own challenge, if possible with sponsorship, of course, donating through the Malmesbury Carnival website! Whatever your level of fitness or sporting prowess you can take part! Some challenges, like mine, by necessity, will focus on completing an equivalence in miles -  a ‘virtual’ challenge - whilst others may be possible in reality, now that fitness venues and sporting programmes are getting underway again....

Here are a just few ideas, all of which can be modified to suit your own level - but you may have much better ideas of your own:

  • Walk the length of The Pennine Way
  • Swim The Channel
  • Serve 50 aces throughout the month
  • Jog a marathon
  • Climb 5 of the ‘Munros’
  • Spend 50 hours in the gym
  • Play golf 16 times
  • Set a new Personal Best

Have fun and stretch yourself whilst raising monies for Malmesbury Carnival’s local causes!

(Challenges are undertaken at your own risk. Malmesbury Carnival can not accept responsibility for injuries or accidents!)

Outstanding achievements will be shared and celebrated on 4 September (Judgement Day!)

We are not charging for tickets this year but if you enjoy the virtual Carnival events,
we invite you to make a small donation towards the local charities we are supporting.

Thank you!
