Film Festival - Presentation

Film is an art form that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds. It's also something with which children and young people can connect and unlock their own creativity.

Malmesbury Carnival invited 7-18 year-olds from the local area to get creative and try their hand at film making with its new Carnival Film Festival.

The simple theme was “Life in the Malmesbury area”, but there were no restrictions on style or genres, so any film was allowed – including animation, stop motion, dance, music, documentary and live action. Films can cover a range of topics and personal stories.

Films will be assessed for their creativity and content as well as their technical ability.

If you’d like to view the entries, when they are all in, register for this event and we’ll send you full details.

All the films from this year's competition can now be viewed HERE.

The festival will culminate on Carnival 'Judgement Day', when selected entries will be premiered, and one lucky filmmaker will win the opportunity of spending a day on location with a professional film crew.

We are not charging for tickets this year but if you enjoy the virtual Carnival events,
we invite you to make a small donation towards the local charities we are supporting.

Thank you!
